Vice President (VP) of Marketing Responsibilities include:

 
  • Developing and implementing a cohesive marketing plan to increase brand awareness
  • Setting current and long-term goals for internal teams
  • Designing and reviewing the Marketing department’s budget
  • Consumer goods marketing experience a must
  • Multi-Channel marketing (Digital, Retail, Ecomm, Distributors, Practitioners) experience necessary



Job brief

We are looking for an experienced Vice President (VP) of Marketing to direct and oversee our Marketing department. You will design, implement and monitor effective marketing strategies that align with our business goals. Follow the CEO’s strategic brand plan for defining and implementing our core systems, campaigns, marketing engines as well as refining our value proposition for customers. Also creating and adhering to metrics and KPIs to help assure ROI. 


Our ideal candidate has a solid marketing background and work experience managing a variety of promotional projects end-to-end, including paid advertising campaigns, retail and trade marketing, and digital marketing techniques. Our VP of Marketing will report directly to the CEO and will oversee internal Marketing personnel. To be successful in this role, you should be highly professional. You should also play a significant role shaping the company’s strategic planning.

Ultimately, you should be able to ensure that the Marketing department’s activities contribute to our company’s long-term success.


The ideal candidate will have organizational abilities, detail and analytics oriented and thrive in a fast paced and ever changing workplace. Work independently and very resourceful. Required experience in marketing consumer goods with modern marketing strategies in a variety of channels.  Please be specific on your experience here on your resume when applying.

 

Responsibilities

  • Marketing a consumer good product in the natural supplement space using all modern marketing tools and strategies
  • Market to variety of channels
  • Manage variety of team players, agencies and contractors
  • Marketing copywriting/editing....create compelling ad content/copy
  • Develop and implement a cohesive marketing plan that integrates all channels to increase brand awareness and sales
  • Design and review the Marketing department’s budget
  • Build relationships with media and stakeholders through creative PR strategies
  • Monitor and measure all marketing campaigns and improve them when necessary
  • Prioritize marketing projects and allocate resources accordingly
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations on marketing metrics for the CEO and Board of Directors
  • Conduct market analysis to identify challenges and opportunities for growth
  • Provide guidance and ideas to organize effective marketing events
  • Participate in the quarterly and annual planning of the company’s objectives
  • Track competitors’ activities
  • Assist the CEO and CFO with financial projections and analyses of existing programs and policies.
  • Oversee and manage our customer and fulfillment center.
  • Assist in all educational efforts including program development and implementation.
  • Assist the VP of Sales in implementing and evaluating sales strategies.

 

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a VP of Marketing with a consumer goods product
  • Lead a lean team with maximum results - define areas to outsource when needed
  • Demonstrable experience designing and implementing successful marketing campaigns
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, web analytics and Google Adwords and other digital marketing tactics
  • Use of Basecamp required
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Independent worker
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Strategic mindset, with ability to make difficult decisions
  • BS degree in Marketing, Communications or relevant field
  • Ideal candidate is in San Diego or Southern California
