The Position: Regional Sales Manager - Western

The Ginger People celebrated their 30 anniversary in the world of ginger last year. We currently market our products in over 45 countries and source a wide range of ginger products from around the Pacific Rim including China, Indonesia, Fiji and Peru. To fill a vacancy in our Sales Department, we are looking for a Western Regional Sales Manager. If you are somewhat of a “foodie, and want to play a key role in the continued growth of The Ginger People business, we're looking for you!


Summary


Manage broker and customer relationships within Western Region as assigned including new customer development, promotions and new product introductions. Responsible for achieving company assigned annual budget and managing trade spending within company parameters.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include the following as well as other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.

  • Establish a sales strategy for the region designed to achieve company annual budget
  • Work closely with brokerage team to ensure company annual budget is achieved
  • Manage customer category reviews to ensure company products are presented in a timely and appropriate manner to achieve company objectives.
  • Manage broker relationships in both natural and conventional channels
  • Manage relationship, with all customers assigned, to ensure company is professionally represented.
  • Develop and maintain a clear perspective of all potential opportunities within the region
  • Identify and pursue appropriate new opportunities including customer and sku opportunities within region
  • Create, develop and present effective sales presentations
  • Provide regular reporting of customer activity and future potential opportunities
  • Recommend pricing and promotional initiatives to achieve sales goals and improve company profitability.
  • Manage all trade spending within region including planning, tracking and analysis of actual spending vs. budget
  • Must be able to understand, plan and develop trade spending programs which meet company ROI requirements
  • Participate in trade shows as required.
  • Extensive travel required – 50% plus

Education/Qualifications/Experience


College degree with business major prefer MBA


Experienced broker manager – 5+ years


Minimum 5+ years experience selling CPG brands to natural food retailers and distributors Minimum 3+ years experience selling CPG brands to conventional food retailers and distributors
