A LITTLE ABOUT THIS ROLE

A Regional Sales Manager’s function is to manage the day to day operations of the regional sales team while also maintaining a focus on the strategic goals of our manufacturer partners and our company. This position facilitates communication between our National Brand Management team, their regional sales team and our manufacturers. They must be willing to roll up their sleeves, be strong willed, detailed driven, highly motivated and dedicated to growing natural focused food brands and developing their team.

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Recruit, hire and train and develop/grow the natural sales team to maximize their potential capabilities to produce strong sales results within the Natural Sales Division.
  • Constant review and efficiencies of selling territories and account lists.
  • Develop, implement and maintain monthly reporting tools and syndicated data to be utilized externally and internally that summarize accomplishments, targets and opportunities. Analyze movement, lift, placement, and voids; work with sales team to manage, monitor and maximize implementation of placement, plus-outs and promotions.
  • Perform market tours with each Sales Representative several times a year
  • Consolidate and disseminate all manufacturer information including but not limited to promotions, new items, hip pocket deals, case stacks, holiday items, truckloads, overstocks, displays, demo, audits and spiff programs.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, competitors, competitive product lines, current retail environment and available promotional and marketing programs.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with our National Brand Managers to maximize ROI on marketing and advertising programs.
  • Work with key business partner contacts to create strong relationships. This includes developing relationships with our manufacturers, corporate headquarter category managers, store buyers and key department contacts, as well as distributor representatives and merchandisers as appropriate.
  • Call on retail accounts as necessary: Present new products and complete paperwork; formulate and review sales strategies necessary to obtain product placement; monitor assigned retail accounts to determine and suggest new product placement opportunities.
  • Complete side projects as requested by our retail accounts, manufacturers and supervisors; these projects may involve sales forecasting, trade spend budgeting, business planning and gross profit analysis.
  • Attend regional sales and national meetings as well as participate in trade shows and trade/association conventions; attend occasional social events with manufacturers/key accounts, and industry partners.
  • Coordinate and lead market tours of local stores and participate in meetings with manufacturers, retail accounts, and distributor representatives as necessary.
  • Develop and/or maintain division SharePoint page and OneNote Notebooks.
  • Travel and other duties as necessary. Safe driving is an essential function of this position

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Outside sales experience preferred 5+ years - demonstrated expertise in the Natural Channel and experience calling on Natural and Conventional stores at the corporate level
  • At least 3-5 years of successful management experience * Dependable, extroverted, diplomatic person, able to problem-solve successfully with a wide variety of people and issues
  • A high level of motivation with a strong work ethic
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment with many fluctuating tasks and a “can do/do whatever it takes to get the job done” attitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word; PowerPoint and Internet literacy
  • Knowledge of natural products/brands and retail landscape necessary
  • Clean driving record, reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and valid/current insurance is required
  • Flexible and entrepreneurial, able to thrive in a continuously changing environment
  • Innovative, strategic problem solver, results-focused
  • Travel – 1 week per month
  • Ability to lift 35lbs

WHAT’S NEXT

This is a Management position which will require visits to retail stores, driving/flying about 1 weeks per month, as well as a working from a home office. The ideal location for this position is Atlanta, Orlando, Tampa or Miami.
