The Position: Nonprofit fundraiser


Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Manager will have both internal and external facing responsibilities, ranging from prospect research, stakeholder management, data organization, and help planning the organization’s long-term sustainability strategies. This position is full-time, exempt, and located in Atlanta, GA. We are unable to offer relocation assistance at this time.


Under the supervision of the Executive Director and support from other key staff, the Development Manager will be expected to:

  • Develop and implement growth strategies that include specific focus on unrestricted funding from large donors and private foundations;
  • Research prospective large donors, foundations, and corporate supporters who understand ANH-USA’s unique mission and goals;
  • Research and manage relationships with the organization's new and existing donors;
  • Track payment calendar, invoicing, and structure yearly renewal asks for organization’s current corporate support program (between 10-12 per year);
  • Represent ANH at conferences, meetings, and other professional events;
  • Other duties as needed and discussed, depending on the needs of a small but very active nonprofit. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with development tasks at a nonprofit primarily funded by individual donors and private foundations;
  • Proficiently knowledgeable about ANH-USA issue areas and adept at learning key messaging for complex and long-term federal law and regulations strategies;   
  • Track record delivering superior results and being an independently productive employee;
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide array of people – junior and senior, for-profit and nonprofit, and from diverse political backgrounds;
  • Outstanding communication skills, emphasizing brevity, are essential;
  • Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in organizational settings
  • A team player willing to adapt to the diverse and changing daily needs of a growing organization
