The Position: Sales Analyst

Join a small and dynamic team! Our office is located in the beautiful Berkeley marina.

 
Our Company and Work Environment

We, at La Tourangelle, are an authentic & traditional family producer of specialty oils handcrafting a wide range of delicious artisan nut oils both in France and California. All the La Tourangelle nut oils sold in North America are made in our artisan oil mill located in Woodland, CA mostly from California grown nuts. All our artisan oils are expeller-pressed, Non-GMO, all natural and delicious.

 General tasks

Our Sales Analyst main mission is to support the sales team through market and sales analysis market, promotion and item management. As such his/her responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 ·    Analyze sales of La Tourangelle products across all distribution channels and territories to identify trends, gaps, leads and generate actionable reports leading to increased sales and profitability.

·     Market trends analysis: acquire market data and perform analysis to identify trends, threats, opportunities and produce actionable reports to guide the company sales and marketing strategy.

·         Gap analysis: identify opportunities and voids by performing gap analysis (at existing retailers, geographical, product portfolio, pricing, distributor, etc.).

·         Promotions management: promotional coordinator is working with sales team to establish a promotional plan. He/she oversees the plan execution, monitoring and analysis.

·         Forecasting monthly sales: Recognize, follow and analyze trends. Consider history, behavior, seasonality and promotions to place an educated prediction. Partner with Sales and Marketing to provide global sales forecasting, to include all new products launches, promotions and discontinuations.

·         Charge back management: monitor customer payment deduction and charge back. Dispute charges when necessary.

·         Broker commissions management: The sales analyst is in charge of monthly broker commission calculation. 

·         Support Sales Managers with sales tools, movement reports, ad hoc projects, etc. to strengthen their sales pitch.

·         New product submission and distributors catalog management.

·         Maximize the profitability and relevancy of La Tourangelle catalog by performing pricing analysis at various level in the distribution (distributor, wholesale, srp).

·         Prepare presentation & analysis to support the sales team at various customers’ category reviews.

·         Act as a valuable team member and take an active role in establishing partnerships with other sales people and other La Tourangelle team members to help the organization and its team member thrive and reach their goals.

 

Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Business or equivalent 5 to 7 years in a related field (i.e. sales analytics, retail sales analysis, etc.)
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing CPG environment
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills (proficient in syndicated data; AC Nielsen, SPINS and/or IRI)
  • Experience with retail promotional reporting and analysis
  • Ability to co-ordinate and manage several critical projects and requests simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information
  • Ability to utilize disparate data/resources to determine competitive positioning
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills with the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Excellent group presentation skills
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint including ability to use graphs, formulae and pivot tables
  • Knowledge of SAP Business One software a plus
  • Must be dedicated to a high level of accuracy
  • Relentless sense of urgency
