The Position: Area Sales Manager- Sacramento or San Francisco Areas

Overview: This role will focus on growing market share for ICONIC Protein in the NorCal market. The Area Sales Manager will work closely with, and report to, the Regional Sales Manager on developing a comprehensive sales plan for their area. This role will be responsible for developing a quarterly sales and marketing plan, in addition to developing medium and long term sales plans for their area.

  • Ensure executional excellence at retail locations.
  • Oversee Brand Ambassadors
  • Responsible for regular merchandising duties at store level inclusive of: stocking and rotating product, placement of POS materials, execution of resets, building displays, introducing new products, etc.
  • Seek new business opportunities by support local distributor partners in securing new business, assisting on crew drives, and providing sales training and merchandising support to assigned distributors.
  • Build relationships with Brand Ambassadors in key markets to help support in-store execution.
  • Be accountable to weekly, monthly and quarterly goals and performance metrics.
  • Take every opportunity to spread the ICONIC brand through friends, family, social media, and passive sampling.
  • Embrace and exude the company’s philosophy and values.
  • Partner with marketing to create and implement effective brand awareness initiatives to drive sales and retailer partnerships.
  • Oversee Broker relationships to effectively manage and grow account base.
  • Build a strong line of communication and understanding with distributors, sales personnel, and company employees.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Schedule and conduct route rides with applicable DSD distributors.
  • Participate in and presenting at distributor and broker staff meetings when applicable.
  • Organize and conduct sales blitzes with key distributor partners and leverage relationships to secure new business.
  • Organize and support distribution partners with sales training, merchandising support, and promotions and sales incentives to drive sales.
  • Identify potential new distributor relationships for deeper market penetration where applicable
  • Target of new distribution across multiple channels: conventional & natural grocery chains, independent groceries, colleges & universities, corporate dining, fitness, C-store, and up & down the street business.
  • Develop volume forecasts as needed and communicate with sales administration and supply chain in an effort to facilitate continuity of supply.
  • Analyze and report on market and industry trends.
  • Build relationships with Retail Buyers.
  • Present new items and promotional plans.
  • Manage promotional calendars and trade budgets.
  • Partner with respective marketing team members to develop marketing strategies.
  • Maintain electronic customer database.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 2+ years field sales and merchandising experience; Beverage or Natural Industry preferred.
  • Ability to work independently from a home-based office/mobile environment and navigate assigned territory.
    • Extensive local travel with some overnight trips based on territory needs.
    • Clean driving record required.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Capable of analyzing information and assembling presentations for.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, & Outlook) and ability to learn proprietary software applications.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

Compensation: $40-$50K Base (commensurart with experience) – bonus opportunity, health insurace, unlimited vacation, and transportation allowance.

Location and Travel: Must be willing to travel overnight as required (up to 80%).
