The Position: Sales Manager

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: National Sales Manager is responsible for driving CPN sales while effectively managing multiple broker groups across the USA that work directly with retailers and distributors. The National Sales Manager will also manage key retailer relationships and develop opportunities to increase sales nationwide.


• Develops, implements and achieves strategic sales plans, strategies, objectives, policies and procedures that conform to company’s revenue goals, and strategic initiatives.

• Evaluates product marketability in terms of customer needs and communicates findings to management team.

• Maintains an up-to-date understanding of the company’s products and industry trends.

• Works within budget guidelines to build sales.

• Develops, manages and communicates sales forecasts with internal team to inform production.

• Tracks sales performance against objectives and informs management of results.

• May manage relationships with major customers.

• Develops account specific promotional plans and programs; tracks performance, spending and makes adjustments as necessary to maximize ROI.

• Integrates and coordinates lines of business with other departments including customer service, finance, and marketing.

• Represents company at tradeshows.

• Delivers sales presentations to key customers while maintaining relationships, negotiating and closing deals.

• Prepares quarterly sales reports showing historical sales volume against budget, and areas of proposed expansion for the Executive Management Team.

• Motivates and energizes the brokers.

• Assesses the competitive landscape and institute changes to the sales program in response to competitors’ changes.

• Coordinates liaison between sales department and other sales related units.

New Business Development:

• Identify and pursue new retailers to build sales and meet the strategic goals set annually.

• Develop sales proposals for potential customers.

• Build and deliver effective presentations to sales reps/brokers/customers.

Sales Management:

• Direct and oversee a network of independent sales reps/brokers.

• Develop sales strategies and new-item initiatives for accounts.

• Establish and maintain working relationship with key customers and national retailers

• Determine customer satisfaction with products

• Work with broker principals and reps in market nationwide.


  • Bachelor degree with 5-10 years of experience in the field
  • A minimum of 5-7 years experience in the CPG industry, natural beauty experience preferred
  • A minimum of 5-7 years broker management experience
  • Must be willing to work in an entrepreneurial environment with limited resources
  • Action oriented with a can-do, positive attitude inspiring others around to adopt a winning attitude and work ethic
  • 50% domestic business travel and works from company’s Orange County, CA office


  • A proven track record of sales achievement in the beauty industry.
  • Beauty retailing experience or natural and specialty retail experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, with demonstrated mastery of using PowerPoint to create effective sales presentations as well as Excel for data analysis
  • Excellent Communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong analytical and tactical skills

  • 1P Experience with Amazon
