The Position: Account Specialist - Oregon
 

Position Summary: 

Implements company strategy to achieve forecasts, budgets and goals for the assigned territory in conjunction with the Account Executive. Partners with Account Executive, in an outside sales capacity, to support key accounts by implementing company strategy, growing business, conducting demos, staff and consumer education, and merchandising.

 

 Position Scope: 
Works with key chain accounts, NCGA stores and large independent retailers (including Whole Foods, Sprout’s, Natural Grocers, etc.)

 Position Responsibility:             

 

·         Builds rapport with key accounts to develop opportunities to expand both the retailer’s business and the company growth.  Monitor sales and make recommendations to increase business.

 ·         Plans and organizes daily work schedule to maximize key account visits, support and sales.

 

·         Submits orders by referring to price lists and product literature. 

 

·         Identifies voids in Super Segment/Routine Segment categories through inventory audits.

 

·         Ensures inventory levels are maintained and all products are well represented (shelf placement, posters, literature, etc.).

 

·         Recommends inventory changes by evaluating sales of the products. 

 

·         Supports Account Executive with scheduled product demonstrations and promotion implementation. Provides samples of product to customers during demonstrations. 

 

·         Maintains regular communications with the Account Executive to review key account inventory maintenance, growth opportunities, retailer needs.

 

·         Troubleshoot daily challenges for assigned accounts while exhibiting calm, professional, positive demeanor.

 

·         Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems and provides the customer with a solution per Standard Operating Procedure.

 

·         Trains the store representatives on company strategy and provides them with product knowledge by conducting and/or participating in sales promotion and educational meetings.

 

·         Trains consumers on the company, products, and goals.

 

·         Manages personal expenses in a responsible and timely fashion.

 

·         Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational symposia; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies, etc.

 

·         Completes appropriate corporate training as related to the position and/or department.

 

·         Assures compliance by following Food and Drug Administration's Good Manufacturing Practices as well as other regulatory standards as required by the department.

 

·         Contributes to overall achievement by accomplishing related tasks and demonstrating characteristics that exemplify team building and support.

QUALIFICATIONS

 Experience:

 

·      Experience in working with Nutritionals, similar consumer goods,  preferred

·      Strong time management, problem solving and organizational skills.

·      Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; articulate speaker and good listener.

·      Strong computer and analytical skills (knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook).

·      Must be able to travel based on business needs (in the field approximately 90%)

·      Must have valid driver’s license and insurance.

·      Own and operate a smartphone device with email capacity.

 

Education:

 ·      Associate degree preferred or equivalent years of experience within the natural sales industry
