The Position: Sales Director- Western Division

Western Division Sales Director

 Thacher Executive Search has been retained to recruit a Western Division Sales Director for Cacique, located in Monrovia, Ca. Cacique is the leading US manufacturer and marketer of Hispanic Cheeses, Chorizo and Creams (including natural products). 

 The Division Sales Director (equivalent to a Regional Vice President at many companies) reports to the Vice President of Sales at Cacique and has a total of 50 Direct and Indirect Reports, managing a substantial  P&L territory across all channels of business (except foodservice) in their territory. This is a newly created position. Compensation package will include competitive base salary and an annual bonus. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Crafts, directs and coordinates all sales and customer-facing activities in their region

·         Prepares, justifies and manages the annual sales plan and budget to achieve short- and long-term sales, profit and market share goals

·         Hires and develops all sales and support personnel in their region, managing their performance and completing their annual performance reviews; manages all day-to-day sales activities of their Team, plans and delegates work to staff and monitors performance for continuous improvement

·         Coordinates with the Business Intelligence group to get reports and information that will help support sales activities in their region

·         Coordinates with staff within the marketing function to develop and execute account-specific trade programming, as well as professionally developed “canned” sales presentations that can be used easily and customized locally

·         Communicates frequently with the VP of Sales on local and account specific trends, progress towards sales and profit goals and on any other factors affecting the marketplace, including competition

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Minimum of a college degree; Business major preferred

·         Minimum of 10-20 years of Sales and Sales Management in Consumer Packaged Goods (including Food and Beverage) sold into the retail environment

·         Cross-Channel Retail Experience (Natural, Specialty & Conventional)

·         Experience managing teams of 15-25 people

·         An ideal profile would include time at a larger company as well as a smaller one

·         Experience working in less structured and/or family owned business with a minimal hierarchical management structure would be helpful

·         Minimum of 3 years of experience in the California retail market
