The Position: NYC Sales Manager

 

Job Description:

THE ROLE 

At Barnana ® we are on a constant quest to improve the efficacy of the food system by challenging the organization to reach new heights. This applies to everything we do especially having incredible leaders at all levels of the organization.

Based in New York City, and reporting to the Eastern Regional Sales Manager the NYC Territory Manager will be responsible for the 5 Boroughs of New York and Tri State sales. The NYC Territory manager will work in conjunction with local DSD distributor and our national broker to track, implement and improve sales in the specific territory. This is a hands-on role where leadership, initiative and energy level will make the difference. We are a small team of hungry entrepreneurs and are looking for someone who is hungry, high-energy, lives an active healthy lifestyle, and a little weird to join us!

 

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

·         Open new accounts and visit existing accounts to ensure the product is properly mechanized and the store is well informed on the brand

·         Ensure area manager and distributor reps are stocked with all the necessary tools to effectively communicate the brand values and sell product

·         Conduct ride-alongs and work with distributors, broker reps, and merchandisers monthly

·         Identify new opportunities in the territory and draft creative incentive programs to further motivate the distributor sales reps and Barnana area managers

·         Develop reporting methods and accountability standards to track, manage, and inspire Barnana area manager as well as Dora’s, UNFI ,and Presence accounts.

·         Develop deep and authentic personal relationships with all parties involved in the sales cycle

·         Instill the characteristic spirit of the company culture, values and beliefs to all partners involved in the sales cycle. Love your work take ownership, and have fun! 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

·         Minimum 2 years of sales management experience in consumer product goods, preferably in natural or grocery channel

·         Strong initiative and demonstrated leadership ability, not afraid to get hands dirty and be in the field

·         Familiarity with a P&L and the ability to manage budgets and meet sales targets

·         Ability and willingness to be in stores daily

·         Experience working with DSD Distributors, and comfortable working with Bodegas

·         Familiarity with grocery business and or consumer products goods

·         A high energy values based individual who is passionate about sustainability and natural foods

·         A team player, comfortable with ambiguity and deadline pressures

·         A fast-paced multi-tasking expert with strong cross-functional project management capabilities

·         College degree preferred, however if you’re awesome - not necessary!

·         Must live in NYC or one of the 5 boroughs
